  • Sheriff Bouchard, when asked if he had a sexual relationship with a county employee and then destroyed email evidence of that affair, refused to answer those questions and walked out of the deposition.

  • Bouchard and his deputies have been sued in federal court over 60 times.
  • A former female sergeant has filed a sexual discrimination suit in which she claims Bouchard fired her over rumors of sexual misconduct.
  • A 30-year member of Bouchard’s department has accused him of failing to take seriously and respond to sewage backup, persistent unsanitary, unhygienic and overcrowded jail conditions, which allegedly resulted in the contraction of a serious and contagious bacterial infection by him and his wife.
